Acer VN7-591g

This is a coupon for the newest Acer gaming laptop model, the VN7-591G (V15 Nitro Black Edition). This version comes with an I7-4720HQ, 1080p IPS display, 1TB HDD for $900

Gaming performance of the GTX 860M 4GB (Maxwell, confirmed by users) + I7 is very good for 1080p gaming, running most games on very high settings. Under gaming, the CPU throttles only a bit and GPU is not (check the review) and the VN7-591G delivers good performance in all games, at least as good as other GTX 860M equipped laptops.

The battery performance is not that good currently at around 3-4 hours tops, depending on your way of use, but it might get better.

The new VN7-591G version has a new IPS model, which is much brighter, so this problem is solved.

Overall, this is a good option, especially now, that we know that the new GTX 960M is actually a GTX 860M with a little higher boost clocks (which in many cases you won’t get).

So, for $900 this is a nice machine. I would say that you can wait for a nicer deal (similar version was selling for $800 not long ago, so). Soon, Skylake equipped laptops will become available for purchase, so you might want to wait a bit. Also, some refurbished laptops are more cost effective. However, this is a rather ok deal.

The Newegg link shows the model at 999$ and not at 900$. Or is there a separate coupon?

Hmm… I will be taking it out of the country by June. So refurbished and stuff will be riskier. Rather go for a new one.
Lookng at an Asus X550JK now. There is a GP60 model that looks nice but it is about 100$ more than my budget!

Hello!
You mentioned that there’s similar verisons for $800. Can I get more information about it?
Thanks!

I don’t think they are available currently, but you can sometimes find those on eBay

I saw this Acer VN7-591G-70RT for $900. I’m not sure if the price is cheap or if it will go lower. Should I wait until Windows 10 to come out or buy it now? I’m hoping to change around mid-August.

1. You’ll have free Windows 10 upgrade anyway
2. If you can wait, then wait
3. If you don’t need OS included in price, you can go with the Clevo N150SD deal I posted

Greetings, Ser Junkie! I’m ordering this instead of the X3 R2 (The i7, weight, high temps, and speakers changed my mind).

Is this coupon usable if I purchase the 960m variant from newegg? Or is $899 the only price?

Cheers

Hi Juncky ! i have the version that was selling for 800$ and i can tell you that overall i’m satisfied with what i got and i feel it’s a bang for the buck it looks nice and thin ,it’s very quiet and cool even in gaming ( it might get a little warm after hours of browsing and gaming but it’s not even noticeable in the touch-pad area ) ,speakers are awesome ,keyboard is good IMO ,the screen is quite good but of course it has it’s downs ; first of all the touch-pad is below-average and it’s not… Read more »

well, there are some good options, but I would suggest starting with updating stuff:
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

look for the VN7-591G drivers and patch – it’s stated that it should improve wireless performance. New atheros drivers too.
Let’s start from there, no?

did you install both the patch and the driver and restart the system?
This is considered a very good Wifi card

yes , i did . okay would you recommend buying a wifi usb dongle something like this ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008IFXQFU/ ) or not ? as i think it’s gonna take me a lot of time to replace the card inside and there’s no tech experts around here that i trust ( i’m from Egypt BTW )

I had good experience with this model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704053&cm_re=dual_tplink-_-33-704-053-_-Product

It does not support 802.11AC speeds

And it seems like this one has good enough reviews too and it supports AC speeds:
