vn7-791g

This version comes with an I7-4710HQ, 1080p IPS display, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD for $1100 from from Newegg. A deal for the 15.6″ version vn7-591G is also on the run for around the same price.

Gaming performance of the GTX 860M 2GB + I7 is very good for 1080p gaming, running most games on very high settings. The VN7-791G does not suffer from throttling even under full load and it’s also very quiet. Thermals are good and so is the keyboard. The 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD combination is excellent for both high responsiveness of the machine and enough storage space for stuff that does not require speedy HDD.

The battery performance is not that good currently at around 3-4 hours tops, depending on your way of use, but it might get better.

Overall, this machine is a very good deal for those who want a more complete 17.3″ gaming laptop with an M.2 drive included – the 256GB SSD is enough for the OS and many programs. The 16GB RAM will also probably prove itself for those video/photo editors who use very RAM demanding software.

A very good deal.

Heyo! It’s me again with the (can this laptop or lenovo y50 run warlords of draenor on ultra or high with rather good fps?) stuff. Lately i’ve been busy, but you asked me about the pc i use now. It’s an old one (cpu type: intel pentium cpu G840) (cpu speed 2.82 GHz) (vid card: Nvidia GeForce GT430) (system memory 8.55 GB) With this i run wow on fair settings “30-50fps”. But it’s unbearable. This game is no good until you play it on ultra or at least high settings. Also i heard some people sayin that since the game… Read more »

Hi Aron!

Frankly, I don’t understand exactly what is the situation – what is your budget and why do you need a gaming laptop if it’s for your family (are they playing WoW?)
This VN7 and the Y50 will both run WoW on very high settings..

Hello Junky!

Sorry, i put the phrases in a wrong order.
What i was trying to say is that the holidays are near, i will be spending quite a lot of money thus i can’t afford to buy anything for like 2000 or so.
But if these laptops can run the game on very high settings, i don’t need to buy anything for that much.

Now i have to choose between lenovo y50 and vn70.
Would be nice if i could find something in Belgium or Hungary 😀

So, no US then?
I think I saw the new N551JM in hungary and Slovakia for a good price with 860M, I7 and 1080p IPS display – can you give me a link to some store?

seems like this G551JM is a very good option and the best I’ve found:

Good price too. 1080P IPS as far as I know, GTX 860M, I7..

Well yeah but the price is getting much higher as you add things to the laptop.
For example (+8GB memory= 77euro)
Ms windows 8.1 64bit (77euro) –> this i might be able to get for free
Finally there’s the ssd, the cheapest one (840ssd 120gb + odd box) costs (133 euro)

At the end the price is 1275.

Do you need more than 8GB? for gaming you don’t really need more than 8GB
Windows – can you get it somehow else? for example, if you are a student
SSD – well, you’ll have to let it go for now, no? it’s not necessary..

I’m pretty sure that i can get a windows for half the price, but i think, for this much money, i should get 16gb or some ssd.
For now i’ll try to search in other laptop stores.
Also i’ll check Belgian ones.
What do you think about boosting my current pc?
Of course that would be the last option.

Do you want to link to some Belgian stores? Why should it be cheaper there?

About your pc – you could just upgrade the quite slow CPU and add some nice GPU for like $300-400 in the US and you’ll be good to go (and you can sell the old ones too), but you won’t have mobility, so you really have to decide about that part

It’s cheaper because i can get discount thanks to my parents job. (21% to be precise)
The link i sent you was recommended to me by one of my friends 🙂

Belgium only? I thought maybe you could order from the EU and get refunded anyway, no?

Both laptops are amazing and i like the prices as well!

One last problem, i use qwerty at the moment, do you think they can get me one like that? Shouldn’t be too hard for them. :S

Also i don’t really understand the the second link laptop’s ssd stuff. It has ssd and 1 terra memory as well?

Anyway really good links 😀

When you open the link and roll down a bit there’s a list of spec. And you can mark the squares by clicking on them.
Pretty much you can choose what you want in your laptop. But it’s very detailed and rather confusing to me.

I saw those squares, but I didn’t think it has something with configuration… are you sure you have to select stuff there? I think this is what you get and that’s all..

Most likely you are right 🙂
Still a bit confusing–
Im not sure which one is the better between the two, one of them has ssd which is definitely good.
Do you think i could feel the difference between the 8gig and the 16gig ram ? (it’s just a bonus they can add to it)
For me fps is everything at the moment 😀 that’s something i understand.
Still only for gaming, no video editing or anything like that.

No, 8GB will definitely suffice – but maybe you could go to their store and check it (if they have real stores)

hmm
Well, anyway, 60GB SSD is not much really (but still nice) and they both should have the same performance. Maybe there is some other store you could check with?

Well i’ll keep looking, but this is not bad actually.
They can also ship to belgium, well i can’t find the price of the shipment, maybe it’s for free.
If there’s an ebay advertisement or something like that and it’s advertised by a “real” belgian shop, i can still get the 20%-.

Aron, a little favor to ask, I’ll understand if it’s out of reach – can you figure if any of those stores in Hungary ship to Germany and maybe ask those if a VAT can be refunded for a non-EU person?

I checked the six link i sent you two day ago.
Once again i feel disappointed in my country. 🙂
They say nothing about shipping to other countries.

Usually when you buy something in Hungary you just go for it with car.
Many of these shops will ship for free if you spend a certain amount of money, but only inside Hungary.

If you have any hun site link ill check it for you.
Although the chances are pretty low, there might be an international company or something that can shit to germany.

A friend from Germany comes to me in a month and I want to review the N551JM, so I thought maybe I could get it from Hungary or somewhere and get a VAT refund, but it’s a problem (unlike giving money, it’s always a problem to get money back from the state or cooperations/banks, right?)

Yes especially when it’s hungary :c .
I really like Hungary but 9 out of 10 company will try to trick you and squeeze more money out of you.
Well i think this is not anything special, only that you can sense it more in a poorer country.
You live in the USA?
I believe the prices are much more favorable there?
