Lenovo Y410p Reviews

[/wptab] [end_wptabset]

The new Lenovo 14.0″ gaming laptop. Finally, we get a (glossy) 900p screen and though there aren’t no reviews yet, it should be much better than the 768p option. You also get the usual – I7, GT 750M GDDR5, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD.

The weight is still very high for an 14.0″ laptop – 5.5lbs it was a typo and the Y410p weight is 4.85lbs (around 2.5kg) which is much more reasonable since the Y410p is thinner and very welcomed.

It is hard for me to recommend this laptop although the performance for the price is good. One, because sometimes you can get the Y500 for $800-$850 but more importantly, because of the screen. Though some will get along with it, it is average at best and for $100 more you can get a much better screen AND much higher performance with one of the under $1000 gaming laptop.

I carry it around for school or when I’m outside of town and it is does not feel too big and heavy. I prefered sacrifying the screen size for portability. Anyway, I plug it to an external 1080p 24″ screen at home with external keyboard, mouse, usb hub, audio interface and speakers so it act like a desktop computer. It is much more quiet though (except when gaming, the fans spin faster, wich is normal)! It is still… Read more »

Hi Gobtron! thanks for the review!

About the scrolling problem – it can be configured through the mouse interface or something. Google it up!
You can easily overclock the GT 750M – use MSI Afterburner or Nvidia Inspector

I know the acer v7-482pg has a better sceen, but why would you go with it when the y410 has a far better processor. I mean the acer has an i5 (1.6 to 2.6 Gz) family class processor and the y410 has an i7 top class one (2.4 to 3.4 Gz + it’s a quadcore).
